The drawing
A red-chalk study of a kneeling figure bent deeply forward, the head lowered and arms apparently drawn close to the body. Heavy robes fall in broad, angular folds around the knees and feet. Strong shading emphasizes the figure's bowed posture and the sculptural weight of the drapery.
