Young Man in a Cloak
Jüngling im Mantel
Andrea del Sarto (?)

The drawing
A full-length study in red chalk of a young man standing in three-quarter rear view, his head turned sharply to the right. He gathers a voluminous cloak across his body, creating broad, sweeping folds emphasized by strong contrasts of light and shadow. The composition focuses on the weight and movement of the drapery rather than facial detail.
