The drawing
An elaborate allegorical composition featuring a procession of classical figures gathered around the punishment of Cupid. Three richly draped women stand at left, carrying flowers and ceremonial staffs, while a crowded group of figures surrounds a tree-like structure at center. Several figures kneel or bow in the foreground, and handwritten annotations appear throughout the drawing. The densely arranged figures and theatrical gestures reflect the influence of Raphael's Roman workshop.
